Walk in Straight line?

So I was walking down a large street, with an equally large sidewalk and was drifting off into my thoughts about what to eat for lunch, thinking about my paper, etc... and occasionally I can walk a bit to the left, a bit to the right....Today, I accidently waled a bit to the right and touched (and I really mean barely touched) this girl's jacket. I apologized immediately knowing that I was off in Rebecca lala land. She didn't even look at me for one second and screams out "WALK IN A STRAIGHT LINE" so this of course made me a but frustrated and I responded rigt away with a sweet "Have a great day, and oh yeha, Merry Christmas" She never even looked back.
This whole episode left me feeling funny inside....what the heck has our world come to? How hard is it to take off your damn earphones to listen to someone, for once or even HELP then trough the snow, on/off the sidewalk. It really makes me angry to I live in the city with people all around me and no one gives a crap about anything that's going on around them...is it really SO hard...AH!
